This is a later model with a 110kW 350 volt synchronous electric motor and 40kWh Lithium-ion battery which gives the Leaf a real world range of 225 kilometres, (an increase of about 50% on earlier models).

Safety is a big feature on the Leaf which comes with multiple airbags, ABS braking with electronic brake distribution, electronic stability control, forward collision mitigation, and adaptive cruise control, all contributing to the 5-star VSRR safety rating.

With the Nissan e-Pedal, you just release the accelerator for automatic regenerative braking and depress again for acceleration.
The Leaf has also Pro-Pilot driver assist, helping keep you centred in your lane and maintaining a pre-set distance from the vehicle ahead.

Along with heated front seats seats, the Leaf also has a heated steering wheel and automatic air-conditioning, plus CD and rear-view camera.
Overnight charging can be timed to suit cheaper electricity rates and the air-conditioning can also be timed to warm using the power supply while charging, so that the car is warmed up ready for departure.
The instrument cluster has been converted to English.
